Guided by: Prof. Sugandh MalhotraThis DRS project tries to document the futuristic technology of the original series which have become a normal part of the lives of the people in the future. The methodology involved was to thoroughly analyze each hour long episode to look for subtle and obvious ways in which technology interacts with the environment, the crew and other organisms around the galaxy.

After identifying the technologies used in Star Trek, this study plots them against Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to identify how the future tech’s focus varied from physiological needs to Safety, love & belonging-ness, esteem needs and finally towards self-actualization.
