Project title: Smart public commuter vehicle for Guwahati
Student name: Mr. Abhishek Gogoi (2015-17)
Guided by: Prof. Sugandh MalhotraMany of the growing cities of the country have a parallel mobility system. The lack of a reliable and frequent public transport system has led to development of jugaad, phat-phat sewa, modified mini buses or Trekker type MUVs that are used to ferry people from city center to the outskirts and to far off villages. This project deals with the acute problems faced in the trekker segment in Guwahati and redefines it from grounds-up to make it stay updated to the current safety norms and deliver a pleasant experience while complimenting with the existing mass-transit public transport system available in Guwahati, Assam.
