OBJECTIVE
- To understand the relevance and importance of history of automobile design.
- To observe the evolution of various design features through detailed study of an automobile brand.
- To observe and learn the importance of contributing factors that lead to evolution of design.
- To learn to identify key visual design elements of an automobile and observe how these design elements have changed with time by doing a comparative study of past and present models.
METHODOLOGY
- Select one of the known automotive brands. Trace back the history of the automotive car and the brand through rigorous literature research.
- Document previous key model launches and details about the designer and key differentiating features of the chosen product.
- Conduct a parallel study and document the key developments in science, automotive technology, political events, art movements, developments in schools of thoughts, social movements, etc. in an elaborate timeline.
- Identify different key features of the specific automobile and derive relationship between their evolution and the contributing factors.
- Trace the key design elements that define a specific automobile vehicle. Observe the evolution in design language through comparing past and present day models.
